ABOUT
Maria Pellegrino was born and raised in Litchfield, Connecticut and began her formal dance training at age five. She studied at The Nutmeg Conservatory in Torrington, Connecticut and then continued her training at Studio D Dance in New Milford, Connecticut in 2015, where she was inspired by her teacher and former Pilobolus company member, Rebecca Darling, and fell in love with modern dance. In 2020, Maria began her BFA degree in Contemporary Dance at The Boston Conservatory At Berklee. While attending the conservatory, she has learned repertoire by The José Limón Dance Company, taught by former member Kurt Douglas, performed in multiple main stage performances, and choreographed, danced in, and recorded multiple dance films. Her film, “In Waves We Heal,” was selected for The Boston Conservatory’s 2022 Dance Film Festival. When Maria is not dancing she is spending her time reading and collecting shells on the beach.
